"Great design isn't decoration — it's a tool for recognition and connection".

My Story

My passion for design started early. After earning my BFA from the School of Visual Arts, my first job out of college was at ESPN The Magazine, where I learned conceptual thinking at the highest level. From there, I spent years in editorial design, winning awards and getting published in Typography 26 through the Type Directors Club and the Society of Publication Design.

Along the way, typography never stopped pulling at me personally. In 2005, I launched Paperkat Design, creating custom invitations purely for the love of playing with type. It was always a side passion, never meant to be a full-time business, but it taught me what it means to run one, and it told me everything about where my heart was.

Then came branding. And everything clicked.

After years in editorial design, I joined a company that opened my eyes to the world of brand strategy. For the first time, I was not just designing. I was thinking about who a business serves, how they should sound, what makes them stand out, and why any of it matters. I was hooked. I started developing logos, diving into strategy, and realized this was the work I had always been building toward without knowing it.

And what I discovered in that world changed everything I thought I knew about design. A logo is not a brand. It is a start, but your brand is your message, your values, your voice, and the way people feel before they ever spend a dollar with you. I am on a mission to help small businesses understand that difference and build something that truly connects. When strategy, typography, color, and messaging all align, your brand does not just look good — it stops people in their tracks.

That mission is personal. I built Fox and Finch Creative because I know what it feels like to be a small business owner. The vulnerability of putting yourself out there, needing help in areas outside your expertise, and relying on others to move forward. This is my way of showing up for you the way I wished someone had shown up for me.
